People in Pune are great devotees of their local gods and
goddess. A major proportion of population is Hindu. The holy places
located in this reign includes Pravati Hill and Temple, Patleshwar
Cave Temple and similar other places of worship for Hindus. The most
interesting fact about these places is that each one is standing
with a story of its own and people have their deep sentiments
associated with these holy places.
Most of the temples in the reign belong to lord Ganesha. The famous
Chatshrungee temple attracts a lot of prople. The Bhimshankara
temple is one of the twelve Shivlingams situated in India. Most of
the idols in the temples of Maharashtra were discovered and were
never made.
