Ahmednagar is located 117km northeast of Pune. The place is mainly
agricultural district.
About :
The city of Ahmednagar has a history of 500 years. If you drive
down to the city, you can experience the real village life. This is
the place where famous saint Sai Baba lived his life.
The saries worn by the women of the place in their typical
traditional way is really interesting. These women still visit
villages with large brass pots over their head to get water for
their family. Farmers work on their lands with their bullocks and
wooden plows. The reign, if gets enough rains, produces a large
quantity of wheat, millet, sugarcane, mangoes and flowers.
Numerous Mughal - era building form important attraction of the
place. Another important attraction Ahmednagar Fort, once called as
second impregnable fort in India. This fort was used by Britishers
to prison Jawahar Lal Nehru and other leaders if India's freedom for
independence. A few rooms have been converted into museum.
Ahmednagar houses second largest display of millitary tanks in the
world. This exhibit is open to public.

Chand Bibi Tomb or Salabat Khan Tomb
Is a three storey structure made up of solid stone. It is 13 kms
from Ahmednagar City and being situated on the top of a hill it has
a great view of the city lights at night. It is visible from almost
anywhere in Ahmednagar City. This is a great place for youngsters to
enjoy themselves and is really spooky at night as there are 5 graves
within the premises.
