Devi Chatshrungee is yet another important goddess worshiped
in Pune. Mahakali, Mahalakshmi, Mahasaraswati and Ambareshwari are
some of the popular names of the hindu goddess. The temple is
located in the midst of scenic beauty of Pune.
Alike any other temple in Pune, The Chatshrungee temple has its own
tale. The idol of goddess Chatshrungee was discovered by a trader,
after devi appeared in his dream. Day after day this temple became
an important place and had her devotees coming from all over India.
There is an Annual Navratra Festival, organised in the month of
October which draws large number of devotees.
The temple, built in Shivaji's era, is located on a hillock off
Senapati Bapat Road.
