Climate/WeatherGeographical Location: Pune is located on the western leeward side of western ghats at an altitude of 559m above the sea level. The 'Queen of Deccan' experiences three different seasons viz summers, winters and monsoon. Most of the land is hilly reign and is very fertile. The summers are hot and period from early April to late May. The monsoon begins in the month of June and continues up to September. From October to March, one can visit Pune at its best. The winters are cool and dry. Overall temperature ranges between 15 degree centigrade to 35 degree centigrade. Winter Mid Nov - mid Feb. Dry, cold nights, pleasantly warm days. Spring Mid-Feb to end-March. Warm days and pleasant nights. Summer: Early-April to late-May. Hot days and warm nights. Monsoon Early June - early October. Rains. Warm and humid. Coat, plastic shoes or small boots advisable. Post-Monsoon Early Oct - early Nov. A little rain, but still warm. Rainfall : 68 cm (annual average) |
