Another taluka within southern block is located at a distance
of 38km. The place was formerly capital of Maratha Empire. The place
is a perfect hangout point for trekkers and para gliders. The place
also has esteemed National Cadet Corps Academy. There are many
temples like Purandhareshwar Temple, kedareshwar mandir, Sawai
Madhavrao, Peshwa mandir etc.
Famous Purandhar fort is also located here. This fort of Shivaji
heights about 1378m. There is Shiva temple situated at the heart of
the fort.

Jeeps are the easiest way to commute to the Purandhareshwar
Temple.
