Situated in western Pune, Bhor is housing one of the biggest
mountain ranges in Maharashtra, Sahyandri Mountain Ranges. Most of
the area is covered with dense forests with thick sag, teak, oak and
mango trees. The place is also a home to many wild animals like
wolf, leopards, rabbits and birds like peacock, bulbul and parrots.
Crops like Rice and Jawari are grown in this region and the most
commonly grown rice which is called Ambemohar. Baneshwar is an
important picnic spot in this reign. There is a Paper Mill as well
which is located in Sarole. Rexane, Mosquito net, Soot cloth, Sugar
factory, Paint factories are also found here.
There are two schools in the city, Raja Raghunathrao Vidyalaya and
Shivaji Vidyalaya with one senior college, A.T. College. bhoreshwar
Temple which is dedicated to lord Shiva is also a good spot and
place where famous Amir Khan movie, Mangal Pandey was shot.
Accessibility
- Platform number:10, 11, 12 & 13 provide a number of bus
services to reach Bhor.
- There are three types of buses operating, Bhor, Bhor Janta
and Bhor Super.
