Ambegaon covers a reign from Bhimshankara to Lakhanpur and
comes under north reign. One of the Talukas (District) in Pune is
said to be blessed by Kulguru, Shree Khandariya of Bhimnshankara.
The area falls at the foot of Sahyandri Hills and is divided into
two reigns; North and South. The north reign remains dry because of
scanty rainfalls. On the contrary, Southern reign receives good rain
shower and is home to many wild animals like lions, fox, deer, wolf,
rabbit and leopards with birds like peacock and bulbul. Parrots can
easily be seen here.
Two rivers, Ghod and Dhimbe are major source of water for
agriculture. It is a religious and cultural center as many utsavas
and festivals are celebrated with great enthusiasm by the people.
Dhimbe dam is also located here which heights to 100m and has
capacity of 13.5(T.M.C.) Famous Bhimhsnakar Temple is also here.
